just a girl born to love people
Although born and raised in Wisconsin, I have spent much time traveling through my time in the military and as I explore the world with my husband and son. Of the 12 counties I've been fortunate enough to visit thus far, Norway is hands down my favorite. I've been married for over 16 years and we share two littles that I adore more than anything. I'm hugely passionate when it comes to helping people and also work in non-profit helping underserved communities in starting, growing and maintaining a business.
My current passion project is raising funds to build a skills center for disadvantaged young women in Zambia, Africa...a home of a dear friend of mine.

MONIES RAISED FOR SEPO ZAMBIA'S YOUNG WOMENS SKILLS LAB
Our goal is $70,000. It's been a dream of mine to build a school and I'm so excited to be on this journey.
I want every client to feel a part of this too. This is why everyone that hires me; a portion of the proceeds goes directly into this pot of money we are trying to raise for the skills center.
I cannot wait till we reach our goal and can visit Zambia and the new center and see the impact we've made.

I've recently partnered with SEPO Zambia, a non-profit working to build a stronger education sector in a tiny village where my very good friend grew up.
In 2019, they were able to build a new school. Now, the next step is to raise funds to build a skills center for young women to learn trade skills so that they can build a life and career.
Instead of being cast aside for being too old and unwed or forced into forms of slavery, we want to give them an opportunity to build their own life.

Booking is made as simple as possible. To be fair to everyone, I take weddings on a first come first serve basis. A signed wedding agreement along with a 30% non-refundable booking fee is required to reserve your wedding date. Weddings with are limited to 2 bookings per month.
How do I book you as my photographer?

After each photo event, we'll meet up to review your images and choose your forever items whether it be an heirloom album, framed prints, or fine wall art. Engagement photos are ready within 4-5 weeks while wedding images will be ready between 6-8 weeks. You'll see a sneak peek on social media after so your session to have something to peek at while you wait.
WHEN DO I SEE MY IMAGES?

Challenge accepted! Fear not my friend. Part of why I love what I do is my ability to really get to know you both and to help showcase your naturalness. Real smiles and laughter and love all around. Much of my work is helping guide you both into natural and maybe unnatural but fun settings that encourage true and authentic actions reactions vs. "poses".
WHAT IF I'M SUPER WEIRD AND AWKWARD IN PHOTOS?

CBP Associates are professional photographers that have trained with and photographed with myself so that they learn my Colleen Bies style of photography. They are there to document your engagement session and wedding day, while you still get all the perks of having me help with your wedding day plans, timeline planning, and post processing and delivery of all your beautiful images. They are wonderful all on their own, or as an alternative should I not be available on your day.
